SHIMA SEIKI to Exhibit at 77th Pitti Filati

SHIMA SEIKI ITALIA S.p.A., Italian subsidiary of leading Japanese computerized knitting machine manufacturer SHIMA SEIKI MFG., LTD., will exhibit at the 77th Pitti Immagine Filati exhibition in Florence, Italy.It will participate once again in the KnitClub section of the exhibition that is aimed at appealing to the technical and creative interests of visitors and to stimulate advanced integration of the entire production chain, which is the perfect setting for presenting SHIMA SEIKI's "Total Knitting System" concept.

With the SDS-ONE APEX3 3D design system at its core, the Total Knitting System provides comprehensive support of the knit supply chain from product planning, yarn design, presentation and sampling to production and even sales promotion.

Ultra-realistic simulation capability allows Virtual Sampling to minimize the costly time- and resource-consuming sample-making process. Products can be evaluated using 3D fitting simulation as well.

Examples of Virtual Sampling will be on display, in addition to knitwear produced on the latest line of computerized knitting machines, including revolutionary WHOLEGARMENT knitwear that features superior fit, comfort and draping characteristics. Brand new proposals in knitted textiles will also be presented with the display of SHIMA SEIKI's new SRY machine that is capable of producing unique hybrid knit fabrics that cross-over into the realm of wovens.

SHIMA SEIKI will also be participating as one of the sponsors for the Feel the Yarn project, a design competition for aspiring designers from the world's leading fashion schools, aimed at expanding the creative potential of yarns.
