The familiar SDS operating environment consists of a pressure-sensitive cordless pen and digitizer tablet as well as a trackball unit with duplicate keys for often-used functions, allowing simultaneous use of both hands for maximum productivity. In addition, SDS-ONE APEX3 features such useful functions as online help, macro functions and seamless switching between PGM software programs. SDS-ONE APEX3 and P-CAM cutting machines are the perfect combination for automotive parts (car seat fabrics, headrests, armrests, airbags, floormats etc.), furnishings, industrial material, felt, container bags, flexible container bags, cloth containers, carbon fiber fabric, carbon cloth, aramid fiber, woven fabric, tent, canvas, nonwoven fabric, filters, felt, and urethane foam.

Online Help/Operation Guide by Industry

By having help functions readily available, assistance is available at all times. Online help for functions currently in use can be called up for immediate reference. Operation guides are also available for each industry such as automotive and furniture, allowing the operator to check each function according to workflow.
Macro Functions

Operation steps can be registered as macros and called up later to be used as guidelines. Each function can be called up in sequence with each click, so operation is made simple. By storing more macros, user know-how can be accumulated.
Coordination Among Software Programs

Patternmaking and nesting (marking) software can be switched among each other seamlessly, allowing quick editing without the need for storing and loading data before and after using each program. . Relation marking function allows changes in piece data to be applied to marker data automatically.

Training is provided with machine purchase. Software updates are provided free of charge, so the latest version is always available for use.
Patternmaking
Enlarging and Reducing Parts

Taking into account the elasticity of fabrics, parts sizes can be enlarged or reduced by several percent.
Adjusting Perimeter

The outer perimeter of parts can be increased or decreased by setting perimeter width.
Tangent Arcs

Arcs can be created by setting the radius for a circle that is tangent to any corner.
Nesting (Marking)
Parts Load

By setting material name and required number orientation for each part and set number are performed automatically developed according to nesting material.
Automatic Nesting (Marking)
Software for automatic nesting (marking) according to material width is standard. The required amount of fabric can be determined easily.

Nesting (Marking) Information Output
Marking data can be output to Excel format. Detailed information such as cutting time as well as outline dimensions and area for each piece can be output for cost estimation.

Start Point Editing
After nesting (making), the start point can be optimized so as not to affect patterns that are next to each other, overcuts and heel cuts to adjacent parts can be prevented.

Automatic Setting of Cutting Speed
Cutting speed that is set for P-CAM can be further set for each pattern or line. Cutting speed is automatically reduced for areas where two or more patterns are close to one another to maintain accuracy.

AutoMarking Premium
AutoMarking Premium provides an average of 3% better efficiency in marking than standard automatic nesting (marking) software. Material loss is minimized, and cost is effectively reduced.

Data Formats

A variety of data formats are supported, including input and output of TIIP, AAMA and AutoCAD DXF formats, as well as Gerber and other cutting machine formats*.
* Some data may not be supported.
Taking Full Advantage of 3D Capability
It is possible to extract 2D parts from 3D data. By generating a 3D simulation based on the extracted modified 2D parts, the product image can be examined while rotating it 360 degrees on the monitor. Final product image can be checked by mapping fabric onto the 3D image.
3D to 2D Development
2D parts can be extracted from 3D modeling data by drawing cut lines and opening it up.

3D Simulation
2D parts can be re-fitted back onto 3D data based on fabric qualities. It is possible to display fabric tension and pressure distribution, contributing to effective product engineering.

3D Mapping
Fabric images can be mapped onto 3D simulation data, allowing accurate evaluation of the final product image.
