Flexible and Accurate High-Volume Cutting

SHIMASEIKI's P-CAM series multi-ply NC cutting machines (computerized cutting machine), with an already established reputation for their high efficiency, productivity and quality, have been renovated across its entire line. Faster and smoother head movement improves productivity. A low-vibration, low-noise head is adopted to improve the work environment. New functions such as a one-touch drill attachment, a more compact Y-beam controller, and a switch for moving the conveyor and cutting the vinyl sheet, enhance operability. Moreover, the optional turbo fan suppresses fluctuation in air pressure for stable multi-ply cutting. Cutting thickness of 1 inch (33mm), 2 inches (55mm) or 3 inches (75mm) can be selected. Especially for 3 inches, increasing Y-beam clearance enables loading of thicker material before suction. A new knife sharpening system produces a sharper, stronger blade every time. Stronger, more robust component parts permit quicker response times for knife movement and more accurate cutting for thick fabric such as denim. For cutting area of P-CAM181/182/221/222, in addition to S and L types, LL type is supported for wider range. P-CAM machines feature a highly sophisticated cutting mechanism with a reciprocating knife for precision cutting through fabrics up to 3 inches in thickness. P-CAM also features a special function to cool the blade while cutting material that can melt and adhere to the blade. An improved knife sharpening system also permits more precise cutting.

As the knife blade gradually wears from repeated cutting and sharpening, precision cutting becomes increasingly difficult. To alleviate this situation, P-CAM measures the knife blade width automatically, thereby maintaining accuracy for such detailed cutting as sharp corners and notches. The Knife Width Auto Measurement Function also monitors blade wear in realtime, notifying the operator when replacement of the blade is necessary.

Drilling is used for darts and pockets in garments, or in the case of the auto industry for car seat fabrics. The optional drill upgrade allows fabric cutting without loss of performance even during heavy drill loads. The drill upgrade option offers choices for 2, 3, 4 or 6 drills.

An all-new conveyor system is housed within the suction chamber, permitting suction while feeding fabric. With higher suction efficiency blower output can be reduced for reduced power consumption and quieter operation.

When cutting two patterns that are next to each other and share a common pattern line, P-CAM can cut the line with a single cut for improved accuracy and efficiency by preventing double cut. By applying this process automatically, leadtime for editing data can be reduced as well.

Cutting Speed Auto Set

For areas where two or more patterns are close to one another, cutting speed is reduced automatically, for increased accuracy and reduced data editing times.

Sheet Sealer

Sheet Sealer

The Sheet Sealer prevents air leaks through the cover sheet, allowing higher efficiency of the blower motor. Blower output can then be reduced, contributing to lower electrical consumption and quieter operation. On On P-CAM183, P-CAM203 and P-CAM223 cutting thickness is measured automatically, and the Sheet Sealer then switches between two different height positions automatically.

Touch-Control Monitor

A large touch-sensitive LCD monitor is used for the operation screen. The menu is designed for easy operation even for beginners. In addition to English and Japanese menus, a Chinese menu is also available for supporting current trends in global sourcing.

The pick-up table with suction capability allows smooth delivery of fabric parts after cutting.

With the brush-type cutting table, strong and effective suction can be applied across the entire material for stable cutting. Brushes have a long wear-life, and should the need arise they be exchanged piece-by-piece for easy maintenance.

Emergency stop buttons are located at all 4 corners of the machine, and safety devices such as a pause button and safety bar are fitted on the Y-beam to ensure safe operation.

In order to maximize P-CAM's capabilities in the cutting room, P-EDITOR enables editing of CAD data in various formats, including those created with CAD systems other than Shima Seiki's SDS-ONE APEX. For example, special points such as Start Point, Reversal Point and Loop Cutting Point can be set. Cutting speed can also be specified for each part. Data for notch, drilling, and marking can be input, modified and deleted as well. In this way, P-EDITOR allows P-CAM to perform precise cutting of data which were previously limited in data compatibility.

In addition to the above features, P-CAM is equipped with a function to cut waste into pieces, a textile marking function using a laser, and a function that limits cutting only to necessary parts. Furthermore, functions such as automatic scheduling of cutting data and conversion of cutting requirements into files, contribute to efficient operation. Stronger parts and simplified maintenance requirements also help to make the new P-CAM series more reliable than ever before.
