SHIMA SEIKI's NewSES-S･WG is an extremely flexible machine which realizes quality knitting in a range of production styles. Like the NewSWG-V WHOLEGARMENT specialty machine, the NewSES-S･WG is capable of knitting complete garments using latch needles, offering a simple solution to the complex demands involved in producing WHOLEGARMENT knitwear. Unlike the NewSWG-V's "twin-needle" configuration however, the NewSES-S･WG employs the standard layout of needles and spring-type sinkers at equal pitch. This makes for an extremely flexible machine with capability to perform fine-gauge shaping and integral knitting as well. It is even capable of gaugeless knitting whereby a number of different gauges can be knit into a single course. The great versatility of the NewSES-S･WG makes it the perfect choice for adopting WHOLEGARMENT production while maintaining flexible support of varying market demands.
NewSES-S･WG is capable of performing WHOLEGARMENT production allowing an entire garment to be produced on the knitting machine without any linking or sewing*. Aside from the cost-savings associated with eliminating post-knit processes, WHOLEGARMENT reduces production time and offers on-demand support of new and repeat orders, consistent quality control and elimination of cut-loss and other material waste. WHOLEGARMENT products appeal to consumers because of their soft, lightweight comfort and fit brought about by the elimination of annoying seams.

Available with NewSES-S･WG is the i-DSCS Digital Stitch Control System "with Intelligence." It carries over the benefits of DSCS, with even better performance. Whereas DSCS is a passive system which controls stitch length and yarn tension by limiting yarn-feed, i-DSCS has the capability to actively control yarn-feed in both feed and retrieval directions as necessary, resulting in even higher quality and greater productivity using a wider variety of yarns. Like DSCS, i-DSCS provides consistent quality among different production batches and repeat orders, and is crucial to the precision knitting required in WHOLEGARMENT production.
When knitting integral garments and intarsia on conventional V-bed systems, the yarn carrier is positioned by carriage movement. After knitting the integral or intarsia portion for each course, the carriage must spend a dedicated course specifically for moving the yarn carrier out of the way in order to knit the next course, resulting in wasted "empty courses." In sharp contrast, the NewSES-S･WG's optional yarn carrier kickback device features a motor-driven active carrier system whereby the carrier lifts itself up and over to make way for the carriage's next knitting course, eliminating the need for any extra empty courses and significantly improving productivity.
NewSES-S･WG features a special Second Stitch cam that allows loose / tight stitches for shaping. Loose and tight stitches can be controlled for each individual needle, allowing instantaneous changes when needed.
NewSES-S･WG features a new computer-control unit and LCD monitor. The controller is equipped with a new USB memory interface for supporting complex WHOLEGARMENT items that require large amounts of data. Also standard is a network interface which opens up new possibilities in filesharing and production management using Shima Network Solutions. A backup power supply is also standard, allowing work to resume after power failures. The new control panel features a simple monochromatic LCD monitor with an improved graphic interface for intuitive operation. The eye-level display offers improved ergonomics, while menu-interactive function buttons offer easy input and editing.
