SHIMA SEIKI’s new textile printing machine SIP-160F3 continues to provide beautiful full color printing on a variety of fabrics, with improvements across the board. Unlike conventional dyeing and printing systems that require long leadtimes for preparing films and plates, SIP-160F3 uses advanced piezo inkjet technology and is suited to quick-response small-lot production. Reactive ink, acid ink and pigment inks (including white) can be used to support different types of print applications. The height-adjustable carriage can be raised or lowered to allow printing on fabrics and products in varying thickness. SIP-160F3 is now equipped with a new ink circulation and degassing system. In addition, new features such as a head cleaner with nozzle cleaning and wiping, as well as a thermoregulating system within the ink pipeline help to provide stable printing. Operation is easy through a new, larger 23-inch touch-control monitor. With SIP-160F3, quick and flexible production capability allows on-demand printing, while high-quality printing raises fashion to new levels in added value.
Flatbed Printing Method

SIP-160F3 is a unique printing machine that utilizes flatbed printing technology for printing directly on a variety of items. Examples of flatbed printing include printing across the entire print area, printing multiple items at once, "cross printing" wherein an unfinished garment is laid out in a flat state in the shape of a cross, and even printing directly on finished garments. L type features a large print area of 2400mm x 1600mm and comes standard with a vacuum device for firmly affixing items for stable printing (factory option on S type).
Height-Adjustable Carriage
The carriage unit can be raised or lowered according to the thickness of the item, up to 50mm. This allows printing on fabrics with 3-dimensional textures and even directly on completed products, including WHOLEGARMENT knitwear which is produced in its entirety.

Ultra-High Speed Printing

The carriage is capable of very high speeds. In addition, the variable-stroke carriage permits efficient printing of only the required areas to yield very high productivity.

Ink Circulation and Degassing System
SIP-160F3 is equipped with a new pump-type ink circulation and degassing system wherein a degassing module retrieves air bubbles within the ink tube. A pressure-feeding system is used to circulate the ink to maintain a certain level of pressure within the tube. A high-precision thermoregulating device also maintains ink temperature. Together with a head cleaner with nozzle cleaning and wiping, more stable printing is realized.

CCD Camera

A CCD camera is used to take photos of the fabric on the flatbed table. Fabric and designs can be checked, and accurate positioning of designs can be assured.
Touch Panel Controller

Operation is easy using a large 23-inch widescreen touch-control monitor. The menu has been configured for easy operation by beginners and experts alike. Furthermore, the controller is a separate unit from the printing machine so that it can be placed in a convenient location.
Accurate Color Matching

When used in conjunction with the SDS-ONE APEX3 apparel design system, its color management system (CMS) can be used for creating accurate simulations of the printed piece for checking before printing. In such a way accurate color matching can be performed in quickly.
Standard Color Profile
SIP-160F3 is equipped with several color profiles standard. With the optional color management system, users can create and store their own color profiles.
Support of Print Design and Presentation

Original print designs can be created easily and efficiently on SDS-ONE APEX3 apparel design system. Pattern repeats can be checked in realtime, and design motifs can be laid out while checking the balance of the entire design. Once a design is chosen, colors can be selected from Pantone color or custom color menus for evaluating colorways. The completed design can then be composited with product images in 3D for accurate presentation and evaluation of realistic images of the final product.
Ink Types
An all-new printing head features multidrop inkjet technology that rapidly deposits many drops of ink in different tones, permitting subtle gradations at high levels of productivity. Reactive ink, acid ink and pigment ink can be used to support different types of print applications. 8-color printing, with special blue, red and orange colors offer beautiful results with vivid colors across a wider color gamut. White color is also available with pigment ink (factory option).
