New possibilities for knitwear with the "Work Square" at Pitti Filati 96
April 23, 2025

In this issue, yarnbank members who participated in PITTI FILATI 96 will share information about "Work Square".

First of all, many of you must be wondering, "what is a Work Square?"

As you know, yarnbank is a meeting space where you can "meet new materials" and get the latest yarn information.
However, the SHIMA SEIKI ITALIA booth at Pitti Filati actually played an even bigger role as a place where "possibilities for knitwear expand."

What is a "work square" in Italy?

First of all, the "square," or "piazza" has a very important cultural meaning in Italy.

It is a place where friends enjoy daily conversation, where artistic events are held, where historical buildings exist...

Thus, the square is deeply rooted in culture and society as places where people visit and interact.

The booth where yarnbank exhibited was the very embodiment of such a plaza.

There, not only products from SHIMA SEIKI were exhibited, but also products from various partner companies involved in the fashion industry as well. These include material manufacturers, a linking machine manufacturer, a post-processing manufacturer, and an educational institution.

Knit contest by young creators

The "CREATORS THE CALL" knit contest was also held for young creators, producing a lively atmosphere.

Expanding the possibilities of knitwear

We collaborated with a variety of companies for several reasons,

We wish to expand the possibilities of knitwear, so that more people can experience the joy of making things.

We also wish to deepen our relationship with various companies and offer improved solutions to visitors.

This was our goal at Pitti Filati, and the significance of having a "Work Square" in our booth.
