SHIMA SEIKI's SDS-ONE APEX can be used to design textile patterns including stripes and check patterns, dobby patterns, double weave and jacquard patterns. SDS-ONE APEX offers comprehensive support for everything from textile product planning, pattern production and evaluation of colorways to output of instruction sheets, creation of product images and sales promotion. SDS-ONE APEX is an optimal design system for all types of apparel products including uniforms, shirts and bottoms, as well as for such users as textile converters, textile manufacturers, planning companies, OEM and ODM manufacturers, trade firms, yarn traders, interior designers, towel manufacturers and sundry manufacturers.
Creating Patterns
In addition to creating designs from scratch, patterns can be traced over scanned-in photos or actual fabrics. Using the scanned sample as a reference, the width of each stripe can be adjusted easily by dragging it on screen.
The Kaleido function, which develops patterns like a kaleidoscope, can instantaneously create stripe or check patterns from any photo or illustration. Patterns can be transferred to the yarn order form and finally to the fabric image.
Abundant structure patterns are stored in the database such as plain, twill, satin and various intricate patterns. Original structure patterns can also be added to the database. While a dobby motif is drawn, its structure data is automatically created, shown in black/white or in color.
Colorways
Color evaluation can be performed with colors selected from the color menu or the Pantone color guide. Colors can also be directly input through the spectrophotometer. Auto Colorway function creates colorways by sampling colors randomly from a given image such as conceptual story boards, magazine pages and beautiful scenery photos. It enables you to easily create colorway variations according to design theme and concept.
Yarn Input
Actual yarn can be scanned in to the yarn database for use in realistic simulations which are difficult to tell apart from the actual fabric. Twist yarn, space-dyed yarn and melange yarn can be created as well.
Simulation
Super realistic woven fabric simulation for dobby and double weave can be performed. Irregular surfaces caused by the weaving structure and even fancy yarns can be expressed realistically to reduce costly sample making.
Product Image
Simulated or scanned fabric can be draped onto photos or illustrations of garments for checking the final product image. By inputting garment size, the fabric size is automatically adjusted for accurate evaluation.
