P-CAM machines feature a highly sophisticated cutting mechanism with a reciprocating knife for precision cutting through fabrics up to 3 inches in thickness. P-CAM also features a special function to cool the blade while cutting material that can melt and adhere to the blade. An improved knife sharpening system also permits more precise cutting.

Knife Width Auto Measurement Function

For machines with a reciprocating knife, the knife blade becomes worn from repeated cutting and sharpening, making precision cutting more difficult. To alleviate this situation, P-CAM automatically measures the actual knife blade width and adjusts the cutting parameters accordingly, thereby maintaining accuracy for detailed cutting such as sharp corners and notches. The Knife Width Auto Measurement Function also monitors blade wear in real-time, notifying the operator when replacement is necessary.

Suction Chamber Conveyor System

Suction Chamber Conveyor System

For conveyor-type machines, a conveyor system is housed within the suction chamber, permitting suction while feeding fabric, "MotionX". With higher suction efficiency blower output can be reduced for reduced power consumption and quieter operation.

Sheet Sealer (Optional)

Sheet Sealer (Optional)

The Sheet Sealer prevents air leakage through the cover sheet, allowing higher efficiency of the blower motor. Blower output can then be reduced, contributing to lower electrical consumption and quieter operation. On P-CAM183/223 the cutting thickness is measured automatically, and the Sheet Sealer then switches between two different height positions automatically.

Cut parts are projected in color onto the fabric along with associated text information to increase efficiency and to prevent mistakes in pick-up and sorting.

Marking is used for darts and pockets in garments. The drill reinforced type option offers choices for 1, 2 or 4 drills, reducing time and potential for human error while changing drill bits.

A cutting method can be selected among drag knife, reciprocating knife and ultrasonic knife. The drag knife can be replaced easily as a unit. Furthermore, the reciprocating knife utilizes automatic knife sharpening for increased cutting accuracy.

With special labeling head patterns that are placed next to each other and share a common pattern line, P-CAM can cut lines with a single cut for improved accuracy and efficiency. Because the labeling affixing part is movable, it is possible to affix a label to a multi-ply fabric of a maximum 55 mm.

Knife Cleaning

For cutting materials such as fiber-reinforced plastics, resins within the fiber tend to adhere to the knife, reducing cutting precision. The knife is therefore cleaned automatically at a set cutting distance. A Knife Auto Cleaning Function is available on P-CAM equipped with a drag knife and an ultrasonic knife.

Customized Cutting Area (Optional)

The compact 880 mm cutting length of P-CAM can be extended by 912 mm spans. Long items such as aircraft wings can be cut without splicing.

When cutting two patterns next to each other that share a common pattern line, P-CAM can cut the line with a single cut for improved accuracy and efficiency, reducing the time to cut twice. By applying this process automatically, the lead time for editing data can also be reduced.

Pattern Matching Camera

It is possible to adjust the pattern position and skew by displaying the pattern-matching position on the control panel. Using a camera, the operator can adjust patterns remotely, even at a distance.


Multi-Pattern Matching (Optional)

By displaying photos of patterns for different parts side-by-side, patterns that normally would not match up can be matched at the same position.

With the brush-type cutting table, strong and effective suction can be applied across the entire material for stable cutting. The brushes last a long time, and if necessary, they can be exchanged piece-by-piece for easy maintenance.

Pattern images are projected onto the fabric based on cutting data for effective control over parts positioning, and re-positioning, when necessary. Any fabric skew is considered when cutting, making it easy to perform pattern matching. It is also possible to reposition the patterns to avoid wrinkles and other flaws in the material. The projector can be further used to recut smaller parts out of large rough parts in multi-ply applications.

A large touch-sensitive LCD monitor is used for the operation screen. The menu is designed for easy operation, even for beginners. In addition to English and Japanese menus, Traditional and Simplified Chinese menus are also available to support current trends in global sourcing.

P-EDITOR

P-EDITOR (Optional)

In order for our customers to maximize their use of P-CAM's cutting accuracy and efficiency, we offer P-EDITOR software that can edit cutting data created on third-party CAD systems. For example, special points on P-CAM (start, reverse, fold, etc.) can now be set. Such commands as speed change per part, notch, drill, as well as the addition, removal, and rearranging of parts can be performed. Even cutting parameters where the use was previously limited can now be utilized for high-precision cutting.

Emergency stop switches are located on all four corners of the machine and stop units such as a pause button and collision detection bar are fitted on the Y-beam to ensure safe operation.

It is possible to add pattern information on to each piece on the top vinyl sheet using the plotting pen. Parts names and size information can be inscribed to help organize parts for further stages in production, adding to higher efficiency.
